Web Host Hivelocity Announces Launch of Dual Octadeca Core Servers
Web host Hivelocity has announced the launch of dual Octadeca core servers. Located in the Tampa area of the USA, Hivelocity offers a range of services, including dedicated servers, colocation, cloud and virtualization, cloud storage and custom solutions. It is introducing new Dual E5-2600 Haswell Xeon servers which can offer "up to two eighteen core processors equaling an impressive sixteen physical cores". Manufactured by Intel, E5-2600 v3 processors provide more power with less energy usage and support energy efficient DDR4 memory. The new Haswell Xeon servers also offer "Quick-Assist" technology that offers hardware level security. “Many of our customers require that latest in processing technology to sustain their businesses and ensure their growing resource needs are met," explained Ben Linton, the CTO of Hivelocity. "Whether it be a highly utilized application that millions of people are accessing or a cloud solution with loads of virtual machines, there are many scenarios our clientele will appreciate those extra cores." He added, "With these latest dual socket E5 chips we are able to offer customers eight cores all the way to two eighteen core processors on one server. While the upper echelon dual octadeca core systems may be overkill for most, we have some power hungry customers that will jump right into one of these”.
