Universal Metering Company 6fusion Launches Amazon Web Metering
Universal metering company 6fusion has launched services that facilitate metering for Amazon Web Services. The solution, which is in open beta phase, allows users to compare Amazon Web Services (AWS) costs and resource utilization against other public and private IT infrastructures. Built on the Open Market Framework, UC6 Meter for Amazon leverages 6fusion’s Workload Allocation Cube (WAC) to provide a "normalizing metric" which allows users to use the same unit of measure to monitor the AWS Elastic Compute Cloud and Elastic Block Service alongside other infrastructure usage. UC6 Meter simplifies the comparison of AWS costs and usage by gathering usage data from the AWS API and displaying it in equivalent WAC units for analysis. The solution's architecture design allows users to deploy 6fusion’s library of pre-built adapters for common infrastructure platforms, or establish additional adapters using 6fusion’s open API. “6fusion is building the world’s only true open marketplace for infrastructure services,” explained 6fusion's SVP of Product Management, Rob Bissett. “The ability to normalize metering for Amazon is the basis for Amazon users to create an apples-to-apples comparison with other infrastructure suppliers for the first time. 6fusion allows all suppliers to compete openly on a clear price-to-value ratio.” Are you aware of any other solutions that allow you to compare clouds?
