Transport for London Selects Software and Solutions Provider Intergraph for Cloud-based Services
Transport for London (TfL), a British local government body responsible for the “day-to-day operation” managing London's existing and future roads and its public transport system, has selected software and solutions provider Intergraph for a range of cloud-based services. Specifically, Intergraph will manage cloud assets for TfL’s Commercial Development Directorate. Intergraph will establish a hosted GIS solution for TfL with the aim of improving productivity. The system will be cloud-based and offer “greater accessibility and transparency of property assets and more up-to-date and improved functionality”. The solution will leverage the company’s GeoMedia® hosted environment to manage data that is usually stored in a range of locations, including a web host. TfL’s move was made with Intergraph’s ability to meet its transparency policy and enhance the availability of information to the public. The solution’s data management options now allows TfL’s Ordnance Survey mapping to be updated every six weeks instead of once a year. “Intergraph’s cloud-based GIS solution provides a more rich, robust and user-friendly application,” explained EMEA Geospatial Executive Director at Intergraph, Robert Widz. “By easily sharing more current information, organizations can adapt to changing demands and deliver greater value to a broader user base. We’re proud to support TfL’s efforts.” Do you know of any other companies winning big contracts? Let us know the details. Add your comments below. Comment News
