Transparency Market Research Suggests IaaS Market to Be Worth More Than $73.9 Billion 2022

Research conducted by Transparency Market Research suggests that the global Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) market will be worth more than $73.9 billion by the end of 2022. The company, a market research firm with a focus on business and technology, has offices in India and the United States. Its projection featured in the company’s report entitled "Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) Market -- Global Industry Analysis, Size, Share, Growth, Trends and Forecast 2015 – 2022”.

With a market value of only $15.6 billion in 2014, Transparency Market Research’s projection indicates a Compounded Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 22.1% from 2015 to 2022. The report cites a number of issues as being responsible for the growth. A global increase in Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service requirements is cited as the key factor, while “rising penetration of hybrid cloud solutions” is cited as another.

The growth in Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD) is also creating additional demand for IaaS due to increased mobility amongst workforces globally. The Asia Pacific (APAC) region is noted as being one area that will experience ”lucrative growth opportunities” as a result of increased investment and economic growth in emerging markets.

The hybrid cloud IaaS model is also noted as being likely to be “the fastest growing implementation model for the IaaS market” because companies are seeking cost-efficient solutions that “ensure better flexibility in outsourcing their IT requirements to the cloud”.
