Secure Storage Provider Bitcasa Appoints Joe Lyons as Vice President of Business Development
Secure storage provider Bitcasa has appointed Joe Lyons as Vice President of Business Development. The move is a response to the company's continually improving business performance and Mr. Lyons, a former executive at Amazon Web Services (AWS), will be responsible for overseeing the company's partner and strategic alliance program. Bitcasa bills itself as "providing a home for your digital belongings". The company's storage platform offers strong access controls and is available over a range of platforms including Android, iOS, Windows, Windows RT, and Mac OSX. It enables users to safely share and stream data in "complete privacy with client-side encryption". It is backed by a number of key financial institutions including Horizons Ventures, Pelion Venture Partners, Samsung Ventures and Andreessen Horowitz. Mr. Lyons brings substantial industry experience to his new role. His last position before joining Bitcasa saw him lead an AWS business development team that emphasized product development and growing revenue. His career has also seen him involved in establishing enterprise cloud storage solutions for a number of industries and he also held executive positions at companies that include Exario and GlassHouse Technologies. “We are thrilled to have Lyons join us as we continue on our rapid growth trajectory," explained Bitcasa CEO Brian Taptich. "His experience in the cloud storage space combined with his track record accelerating growth at Amazon Web Services, speaks volumes to the value he brings to Bitcasa.
