Seagate Company EVault Launches Windows Azure Backup and Recovery
Seagate company EVault has announced the launch of Windows Azure backup and recovery services. The company’s new EVault Backup Services for Windows Azure service is available from a range of Windows Azure data centers around the world and provides cross-platform (Windows, Linux, IBM i and UNIX) data protection. It also delivers flexible and scalable offsite cloud protection, enabling businesses to maximize costs while reducing risk. EVault offers cloud-connected backup and recovery services to around 43,000 companies. Its services are underpinned by its data recovery team and fully integrated on-premise and online backup data protection. As partners, Microsoft and EVault design and manage an organization’s migration to the cloud. Able to protect almost any workload on a single cloud platform, the solution “complements existing business infrastructures” and makes backup and recovery to Windows Azure environments simpler and more efficient. It also offers Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Exchange and SQL Server users (and users of other core Microsoft offerings) “granular” restore capabilities. “More than half of the Fortune 500 is already using Windows Azure. Integrating our flagship product into this extremely successful platform is an opportunity for us to bring the power of our cloud-connected technology to more organizations around the world,” explained EVault’s President and General Manager, Terry Cunningham. “We are proud to offer customers the data protection they need to meet their computing and business goals. Microsoft continues to build out the Windows Azure footprint, giving customers more options, and extending the global reach of EVault and that of our channel partners”.
