SaaS Company Hosted~FTP~ Announces Launch of Services in Australia
Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company Hosted~FTP~ has announced the launch of services in Australia. The company, which has headquarters in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, bills itself as a “True SaaS” company. It offers cloud-based FTP / FTPS / SFTP services that are paid for on a “pay-as-you-go” basis, meaning customers only pay for the services they use. Being based in the cloud, its file transfers services are significantly faster than traditional desktop-based options.
Hosted~FTP~’s services are entirely hosted in the Amazon cloud and “run entirely on S3 / RDS / EC2”. The advertising free service offers a high level of encryption, with end-to-end 256-bit AES. It also provides what it calls “Unlimited Storage. Unlimited Users. Unlimited Features”. The services automatically find the fastest routes to users’ FTP locations, “cutting down on lost productivity due to slow file transfer”. Hosted~FTP~’s new location is in Sydney, Australia and its new facility sits alongside the company’s presence in California and Virginia, USA, and Ireland.
"The new Sydney location reflects our commitment to the Australian business community," explained Hosted~FTP~’s Vice President, Sales and Support, Gary Ray. “Our customers love speed. As Amazon expands their footprint worldwide, we are able to quickly follow", Ray continues. "Having a location in Sydney means Australian customers are going to see a big increase in performance. Typical speed improvements will be on the order of 2-3X faster."
