Platform-as-a-Service Provider Jelastic and Web Host Websolute Launch Cloud Hosting Platform Beta in Brazil
Platform-as-a-Service provider Jelastic and web host Websolute have launched a cloud hosting platform beta in Brazil. Jelastic provides a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) platform that is capable of running any Java or PHP application without code changes or lock-in. The platform is seeing considerable adoption globally. Websolute, one of the largest VPS Cloud Server providers in Brazil, caters to the needs of small- to medium sized business and a range of developers in South America.
"One of the greatest advantages of this sophisticated PaaS solution is that it is so easy to use," explained WebSolute's Director Luis Schedel. "It does not require developers to change their code in any way and handles administrative tasks automatically."
Jelastic received the Oracle´s Duke´s Choice Award for 2012 for its efforts in making cloud hosting simple. The solution allows developers to deploy applications to the cloud quickly and without changing code. The system also provides automatic scaling, increasing and decreasing CPU and RAM resources as required, meaning customers pay only for the resources they have used. Horizontal scaling can be configured easily with only a few clicks.
Jelastic supports GlassFish, Tomcat, Apache, Jetty, and NGINX application servers and SQL (MariaDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, CouchDB) database servers. Jelastic also integrates build systems such as Maven, Ant, Hudson, and Jenkins as well as Eclipse IDE and IntelliJ IDEA IDE.
