Peter S. Magnusson Joins Multinational Computer Technology Corporation Oracle
Peter S. Magnusson has joined multinational computer technology corporation Oracle. Formerly Google’s Director of Engineering managing Google’s App Engine activities, Mr. Magnusson will spearhead Oracle's cloud-computing business.
Oracle Corporation has headquarters in Redwood City, California, USA and specializes in computer hardware and enterprise software, especially database management systems. Its offerings include database development, systems tools and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software. It also offers Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software alongside Supply Chain Management (SCM) software.
A graduate of the Swedish Institute of Computer Science, Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden, Mr. Magnusson was one of Google’s original App Engine team members and helped establish the corporation's cloud and web app hosting platform. He was in the news this year for joining mobile conversation app Snapchat as Vice President of Engineering and then leaving 6 months later. Mr. Magnusson joining Oracle underscores the corporation's plans to become a key player in the cloud computing arena.
