Peak 10 has added a new data center to its network of 22 data centers across the United States, it was reported recently. The company, an information technology (IT) infrastructure and cloud solutions provider, has opened a 14,000-square-foot facility in Charlotte, North Carolina, marking the first phase of plans for a 64,000-square-foot operation at the University of North Carolina’s David Taylor Corporate Center.

Peak 10’s new data center is the fourth it has opened in Charlotte, meaning the total size of the company’s facilities there now reaches 129,000 square feet. Once the new center is fully completed, it will mean a total investment of around $50 million in the Charlotte region.

As with the other Peak 10 facilities, the new Charlotte center offers an “enterprise-class infrastructure” designed with security and compliance in mind. The facility offers a range of features including “five-point physical security”, HVAC systems, fire suppression, and 24/7 monitoring and uninterruptible power. The center has been audited to prove SSAE 16 and PCI compliance and it interconnected with the company’s other centers across the USA.

“We are excited to have our fourth Charlotte data center open for business,” explained Peak 10’s Vice President and General Manager for the Charlotte market, Pat O’Brien. “This facility enables businesses locating and growing in Charlotte to house and manage their important IT assets with the peace of mind that we’ll be there to keep their business up and running.”

“We are proud to be part of the Charlotte region’s thriving business community,” added Peak 10’s CEO and President, David Jones. “This new technology facility is a great example of our long- standing commitment to invest in high growth markets. We continue to enhance our data center facilities and managed cloud services in support of our current and new companies who require 24/7 support of their technology assets and services. The opening of this facility and the future expansions of the campus position us to continue serving as a business engine for the markets we serve throughout the United States and the high-growth companies that call the Charlotte area home.”
