Multinational Computer Technology Corporation Oracle to Acquire Cloud Company TOA Technologies
Multinational computer technology corporation Oracle will acquire cloud company TOA Technologies. Financial aspects of the acquisition have not been released. Oracle, globally recognized as one of the world’s leading software players, has headquarters in Redwood City, California, United States. It is led by CEO Larry Ellison, who is one of its founders. Founded by Israelis Yuval Brisker and Irad Carmi in 2003, TOA has headquarters in Beachwood, Ohio. TOA specializes in cloud software that helps companies manage mobile workforces (delivery and service teams, for example) and deals with over 100 million service requests per year. The company operates in around 20 countries and it caters to a broad customer base which includes companies like Home Depot and Ricoh. The move has been seen as a means for Oracle to further compete in the cloud Customer Relationship Management software arena with competitor Salesforce.com - Salesforce also owns Service Cloud, a customer service solution used by a number of companies including Toyota. This acquisition is one of a number made by Oracle over the last number of years. The corporation bought Eloqua for $871 million in 2012 and in 2013 purchased Responsys for $1.5 billion.
