Interconnection and Data Center Company Equinix Announces New Data Center in Greater Miami Area
Interconnection and data center company Equinix has announced the launch of a new data center in Boca Raton, Florida. The center, known as an International Business Exchange™, or IBX® data center, is a response to demand for services by companies involved in offering cloud, network, content and digital media services. Located in a part of the greater Miami metropolitan area known as MI3, the new Equinix data center provides services to customers throughout greater Miami and specializes in offering connectivity to commercial centers in Latin America. MI3 is recognized as a hub for domestic and international routes, and the new center leverages close proximity to Latin America and South America to provide network operators with low latency connectivity to key Latin American markets, particularly in Brazil (available through GlobeNet). Equinix’s new data center also offers the added advantage of an infrastructure fully located in the United States. “We are seeing strong demand from network, cloud and content customers looking to leverage MI3 for access to the Latin American market,” explained Equinix’s President of Americas, Mr. Charles Meyers. “With the MI3 facility, Equinix can offer access to the lowest latency route to Brazil and provide a full range of managed hosting and colocation services delivered by ALOG from our three Brazil-based IBX data centers.” Comment News
