Infrastructure and cloud solutions provider Peak 10, Inc. has announced the launch of a new cloud-based SQL Database-as a Service (DBaaS) solution. The company has become the first cloud provider to offer multi-tenant SQLaaS with “business continuity and disaster recovery features”. Focusing mainly on mid-sized companies, Peak 10 offers managed services, cloud computing and information technology (IT) infrastructure solutions to a global customer base. It operates ten data centers across the United States and provides a HIPAA and PCI-compliant cloud service, as well as a “Recovery Cloud” service. Its scalable DBaaS solution allows companies to manage resources on an as needed basis, and offers a highly secure managed database environment where customers can run, develop and test Microsoft SQL-based database applications. Built on Microsoft SQL Server® 2012, Peak 10’s SQLaaS option requires no capital outlay and customers can purchase computing power and storage space as it is required. SQL Server 2012 licenses are held by Peak 10 enabling its customers to benefit from advanced features without additional licensing and environment management costs.
