Global Accountancy Company Grant Thornton Adopts Huddle Cloud Solution

Global accountancy company Grant Thornton has adopted the Huddle cloud solution for 39,000 employees in a bid to provide its workforce with a centralized environment and enhance collaboration opportunities. The Huddle solution offers a range of collaboration services that allow users to work on projects regardless of geographic location.

Aside from offering enhanced global communication, Huddle will offer Grant Thornton the ability to provide secure portals to a highly geographically dispersed customer base. The solution will also help Grant Thornton address legal requirements to safeguard client information. This will be the first time that the solution will have been utilized across an entire enterprise environment, formerly being utilized for a range of projects.

Earlier this year Huddle announced the launch of "Huddle for Office", a solution that allows users to allows users to collaborate on Word, Excel and Powerpoint files before saving them in Huddle Workspaces. The solution offers a "comment stream" which marks revisions and allows users to make notes as they collaborate.

The move was a response to the growth of "Bring-your-own-Devices" (BYOD) where a company's staff can use their own laptops, mobile devices and mobile phones for the purposes of work. Workforces utilizing BYOD require tools with
consistent interfaces, such as those provided by Microsoft Office.
