Data, cloud and international communications organization NTT Communications Corporation has launched its Enterprise Virtual Desktop Infrastructure in the US market. The solution utilizes recently built servers and infrastructure located in the United States.

The company has also announced that it will launch the solution in Europe and other parts of Asia in the near future.

The solution is a cloud-based virtual desktop service that provides desktop functionality which allows enterprise staff to work from any location and at any time. It allows enterprises to “protect information, standardize IT governance and integrate desktop environments with standardized cloud infrastructure” and helps them avoid having to establish independent desktop environments in a range of countries – using the system all PC environments are established and managed from within the United States.

Connected to NTT Com’s global network service Arcstar Universal One, Enterprise Virtual Desktop Infrastructure offers extremely fast cloud infrastructure connection. It provides a portal that makes it easy to add additional accounts and create operating system images. The solution also utilizes Citrix Systems’ XenDesktop which allows employees to safely utilize devices such as PCs and tablets to do their work.

“Citrix is developing leading desktop-as-a-service (DaaS) provider programs and new technologies that partners use to differentiate their businesses,” explained Citrix Systems Inc.’s Vice President and General Manager, Citrix Cloud Services, Mitch Parker. “Incorporation of XenDesktop in NTT Com’s Enterprise Virtual Desktop Infrastructure will enable U.S. companies to better satisfy their global computing needs. The combination of industry-leading desktop virtualization technology with U.S.-based cloud service platforms will ensure that customers worldwide can use desktop virtual environments safely on a highly flexible and expandable service platform.”
