Customer Relationship Management Company Salesforce Renames London Landmark for Better UK Recognition
Cloud-based customer relationship management company Salesforce has renamed a London landmark in a bid to achieve better recognition in the United Kingdom. The company, which has headquarters in San Francisco, California, USA, has renamed Heron Tower in central London. From now on the tower will be known as “Salesforce Tower”. The renaming of Heron Tower, a property located at 110 Bishopsgate, London EC2 where Salesforce rents premises, was announced by George Hu, the company’s Chief Operating Officer. The company recently rented an additional 50,000 square feet of space in the building on a 15 year lease. The company’s efforts in the United Kingdom match its building of a new headquarters building in San Francisco – a 61-storey skyscraper also known as Salesforce Tower. To gain additional recognition in the United Kingdom, the company will also open a new UK data center in 2014. Renaming of Heron Tower is a clear indication of the company’s intentions in the United Kingdom and Heron Tower joins a select number of buildings that have been “rebranded” to represent a company’s brand. However, many feel that that it is unlikely locals will switch to referring to the company by its new title. “Salesforce Tower London is the ideal location for our UK headquarters and meets our needs for future expansion in Europe,” explained Salesforce’s President, EMEA Miguel Milano.”The past decade has been incredibly successful for both our customers and the entire salesforce.com UK ecosystem and we look forward to the future impact we’ll have from our Salesforce partners, applications developers and customers. Salesforce Tower offers us the chance to provide a world class briefing experience for our customers in the heart of the City of London.” Do you know of any other industry players expanding their presence in the United Kingdom?
