CRM Provider Swiftpage Moves Act! to the Cloud
Swiftpage, a provider of Contact Relationship Manager (CRM) solutions, has moved its famous Act! contact manager software to the cloud. The company’s new cloud product is currently in beta and being offered to small businesses on a 30-day free trial basis. Formerly owned by Sage, Act! was one of the original CRMs. Sage’s revenue model was end user ownership, so the transition to the cloud proves a major departure for the software. Act! utilizes an HTML5 client and when used on mobile devices is accessed via a browser rather than an dedicated application. As a cloud product, Act! is accessible through tablets, smartphones and other mobile devices. The solution is able to manage a variety of contact lists including those stored by Facebook, Google, and LinkedIn. The product’s beta status will remain until its formal launch. Once out of beta a fee of around $10-$20 per month for each user (depending on functionality) is expected, with an additional 5$ fee expected for email campaigns. Act! provides links between contacts (companies worked for, etc.) and access to prior email conversations between the user and a contact. Act! also monitors activity between the user and contacts, and provides a graphical indication of the level of interaction. Based on this, Act! also recommends which contacts the user should communicate with to maintain a relationship. Do you know of any other solutions being moved to the cloud? Let us know the details.
