Continuous Delivery Company CloudBees Grows with Jenkins Focus
Continuous delivery company CloudBees has improved its growth with a focus on its Jenkins solution. The company has redirected its “core business” towards the area of continuous delivery powered by its proprietary continuous integration tool. In 2014 the company grew 181% over the same period the previous year. CloudBees focuses on managing a range of process involved in controlling software development lifecycles. Its Java-based open-source solution registers code changes and initiates tests. When necessary it rolls software back or forward as required. Established in 2010, CloudBees’ growth has facilitated a recent $23.5 million investment led by Lightspeed Venture Partners. The current investment means that $50 million has been put into the company since it was formed. The company’s customers include companies like Amadeus, 3M, TIAA-CREF, Intuit, Alcatel-Lucent, Discover Financial Services, Fidelity, Lufthansa, Fannie Mae, Amdocs and T-Mobile. In 2014, CloudBees announced a number of product releases that enabled companies to scale better. Enhancements to CloudBees Jenkins Enterprise included the introduction of Checkpoint/Restart capability to offer visibility workflow pipeline status and delivery process failure recovery. In the period the company increased its workforce by 25% and brought in key staff, including James Brown as Director of Technical Support, Dan Juengst as Senior Director of Product Marketing, and Balaji Muthuvarathan as Director of Professional Services. In the coming year CloudBees plans to “scale-up and scale-out” to address global demand for its products and services. “Our outstanding performance in 2014 demonstrates that continuous delivery is a strategic enterprise initiative and Jenkins sits at the hub of that initiative,” explained CloudBees’ CEO and Founder, Sacha Labourey. “The sharp uptick in revenue, the acceptance by major brands and the continuing momentum we’re seeing in our business going into 2015 show that we are poised for even greater success going forward.” Do you know of any other companies experiencing significant growth?
