Multinational computer technology corporation Oracle has announced plans to extend its investment in Korea. The corporation, which has its headquarters in Redwood City, California, specializes in both computer hardware and software services. It is the world's largest provider of database software and business programs on the planet. The announcement regarding the corporation’s plans in Korea came from its co-CEO, Mr. Mark Hurd in an interview published in the online version of the Korea Times.

In the interview Mr. Hurd suggested that Oracle’s cloud product footprint will further extend to Korea and he foresaw no difficulties selling more Oracle products in the country. “Our business roadmap is matching up with planned schedules,” Mr. Hurd was quoted as saying during his stay in Seoul earlier this month. “I am confident that Oracle will sell more cloud products. By new bookings, Oracle will sell more than any other companies in the industry in the next 12 months.”

During his visit he met Samsung and Korean Air executives to discuss cloud-related issues and told the Korea Times, "I'm not here by accident”. He went on to suggest that Oracle’s investment in Korea would be “coming in many forms” and that the corporation would be employing more people and “operating educational programs to contribute to the local economy” as part of its investment.
