Cloud Storage Software Company Cloudian Announces Next Version of its Cloud Storage Software Solution

Cloud storage software company Cloudian, whose customers include Vodafone, Nextel, NTT, SoftBank, Nifty, and Lunacloud, has announced the next version of its cloud storage software solution - Cloudian 2.4.

The Foster City, California-based company has enhanced Cloudian's data management capabilities and also added multi-datacenter capabilities to its flagship product. The move extends the company's S3 compatibility and multi-datacenter capability leadership, and positions the solution for the growing enterprise marketplace.

Cloudian is designed to enable businesses to manage large data storage requirements by facilitating private or public clouds on their own servers. Its “Storage-As-A-Utility” approach reduces the cost of cloud deployment and management by requiring nominal IT involvement. The solution leverages a peer-to-peer architecture with no single point of failure and offers anyone building an S3-compatible public, private or hybrid cloud full scalability and reliability.

Cloudian 2.4 provides full data protection and security - integral requirements for companies wishing to establish a private cloud or transition data to a public cloud. Cloudian's new Dynamic Consistency Levels feature offers full data protection and uninterrupted operation for multi-datacenter deployments, protecting data through encryption and applying expiration policies to content and auto-expiring content. It also offers a user interface for end user applications and administrative functions which manages billing, monitoring and provisioning. Fully scalable, Cloudian 2.4 supports petabytes of data, effortlessly moving from one node to hundreds of nodes at a range of data centers.
