Cloud Hosting Platform Provider Jelastic Announces New Pricing Model

Java and PHP cloud hosting platform provider Jelastic has announced a new pricing model that incorporates autoscaling and volume discounts designed for customers with production applications who require extensive scaling. Describing it as "revolutionary", Jelastic has implemented a new model that avoids the traditional pricing applied by many organizations and provides discounts on volume usage and reserved resources.

Developers are often enticed by cloud hosting providers' offers to run new apps free of charge but find these offers are not suited to large scale production use - as apps grow, fees for the resources they need become prohibitive. Jelastic offers cost-effective scaling through automatic volume discounts applied to real resource usage. This means large applications committed to high consumption levels receive resources at lower costs.

In addition, Jelastic steers away from a "per-machine" pricing policy that requires customers to pay for resources they do not need. Jelastic offers built-in automated vertical scaling to provide consumption-based PaaS that allows customers to pay only for the resources they require. Additional memory, CPU and disk space is paid for on an hourly consumption basis.

Jelastic's customers also benefit from the ability to establish operational efficiency by setting lower and higher scaling limits for server resources, with maximum levels allowing for over usage when applications have to scale up to meet increased demands. For the convenience of users, Jelastic always responds to new and additional configurations by providing cost projections in terms of minimum and maximum monthly fees.
