Cloud Hosting and Managed Services Provider Webair Announces ProtoMail Launch
Cloud hosting and managed services provider Webair has announced the launch of ProtoMail - what the company is calling a “geo-redundant hosted email solution”. As with other solutions, ProtoMail offers web-based administration which allows users to create accounts, manage users, and establish mail delivery rules. It also offers a range of virus protection features designed to enable businesses to have control over their email security. The key advantage of Webair is that it copies data to centers in two different locations, therefore eliminating possible issues relating to loss of data due to data center failure caused by natural disaster. When a disaster occurs, the “secondary datacenter” becomes the primary datacenter and seamlessly maintains service. The system also features emails archiving and provides fast email retrieval regardless of how much data the system has to search. ProtoMail can be used with IMAP, POP and SMTP webmail and is available through iPhones, Android and Blackberry phones and tablets. "For many businesses email is a vital communication tool not only in the office but on the road as well,” explained Webair’s CEO, Mike Orza discussing the new service. “That service needs to be available regardless of the situation. Backing up data offsite is not enough. ProtoMail has duplicate hardware in place online and ready for service all day, every day." Comment News
