Cloud Adoption Helps iomart Web Hosting Revenue Growth
The adoption of Cloud computing has helped increase revenue at premium UK managed hosting company iomart Web Hosting. The company’s revenue increased by 29% to £19.9 million ($31.8 million) for the 6-month period up to the end of September 2012, while its pretax profits were also up 73% to £4.1 million ($6.5 million).
During the period the company made a number of key acquisitions, notably Melbourne Server Hosting in Manchester, UK. The company also made a major investment in fiber connection for its seven data centers in the same period.
On the heels of its financial success, the company has announced plans for a 20% expansion of the data handling capacity at its storage center in Maidenhead, Berkshire, UK, adding 1486 m² of capacity. The next 12 months will also see the center specifications increased further.
