Canadian Cloud Council and Boast Capital Announce The Cloud Factory
The Canadian Cloud Council and Boast Capital have announced that The Cloud Factory will be held on April 7 and 8, 2014. The conference aims to provide a platform for industry executives at all levels, venture capitalists, and interested parties from a range of related sectors to meet and consider all aspects of "Big Data, Enterprise and the Cloud". The event will feature key startups in the Canadian cloud arena and will consider two main themes - Democratizing the Enterprise and Growth Hacking the Enterprise. The event will provide a range of keynote presentations, panel discussions, demonstrations and social activities, and will attract a number of industry dignitaries. Red Hat CEO Jim Whitehurst and VMware CEO Pat Gelsinger have been confirmed as opening speakers. Other speakers include CIOs of the New York Times, NASA, Walmart Canada, City of Edmonton, and the City of Calgary. Others present will include representatives of OpenStack, Hadoop, LinkedIn, Salesforce and IBM. A significant number of venture capitalists will also be present, including Accel Partners, Bessemer Ventures, Hummer Winblad, Emergence Capital, Microsoft Ventures and SAP Ventures. “The move to the cloud is on par with the Industrial Revolution and highlights the first real push into a global Information Economy, but not all clouds are created equal,” explained Red Hat's Jim Whitehurst. “Given the importance of cloud computing to the continued existence of business in general, enterprise buyers and CIOs must ensure that their chosen cloud platform remains open and transparent, eliminating lock-in and keeping their data free and flexible. This is why the education and conversations fostered by The Cloud Factory and the Canadian Cloud Council are so important to the business world at-large.” Do you know of any other industry events taking place?
