Broadband and wireless/wireline communications services provider Verizon Communications Inc. is expanding its cloud solutions. The company has introduced Secure Cloud Interconnect, a service that allows companies to utilize private IP to securely connect to global multi-cloud environments. These cloud services include Microsoft Azure and Verizon cloud. More services will be made available later in the year.

Based in New York, Verizon Communications Inc. caters to businesses, government and a range of enterprise customers. It currently manages around 103 million retail connections across the United States. The company provides services in around 150 countries.

Companies that utilize Verizon’s Equinix data centers for their private cloud infrastructure will be able to access Verizon’s Private IP service through 15 data centers located in Northern Virginia, Newark, New Jersey, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Silicon Valley; London, Frankfurt, Amsterdam and Paris; Sydney, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Singapore. The company’s Secure Cloud Interconnect service will also make a number of additional options available to business customers including dynamic bandwidth allocation alongside usage-based billing and centralized management through an individual portal.

"With Secure Cloud Interconnect, Verizon is removing the barriers for enterprise cloud adoption," explained Verizon’s Vice President of Product Development, Michael Palmer. "The reality is that many organizations today use multiple clouds to meet their business and technical objectives, but there was no easy way to manage this environment until now. Our new offering uniquely gives enterprises everything they require in a multi-cloud environment– security, private connectivity, performance, simplicity and efficiency. SCI will enable a wide range of applications and use cases for organizations."
